Do we really need a wedding cake?
I’m a huge fan of dessert, but do we need to fork out the hundreds of bucks for a wedding-specific cake?
Let me say that again: I’m a huge fan of dessert.
I have an insatiable sweet tooth. Luckily, at a wedding, alcohol often fulfills that need (as it so often does). But at my wedding, when I have the choice, I want to be sure we have something sweet to eat and the alcohol part of things. Alcohol + sweet things = party success. Yes?
We could do the traditional wedding cake. Or we could go the non-traditional route, with cupcakes. Or lots of different little pastries and goodies. We already have a little Halloween-ish surprise lined up for everyone, which I’m sure I’ll share later (as I start building the website).
I even found a Krispy Kreme wedding cake (or 10) (gag).
I know that you can all say you don’t care a lick right now about my wedding cake, but come wedding day, you’re going to be sooooo excited for whatever sweets we’ve got. I know you are. At least, that’s what I’m doing.
I honestly cared far less about the menu from the caterer than I do about dessert. But that’s just me.
I just came across this blog by a custom cake decorator in St. Pete – I think I’ll go a’courtin. Because seriously? Those are some cute cakes.
Are there any bakers out there who want a website? Contact me, yo. I love me some dessert.
